Michael Pimentel

Michael Pimentel provides legislative and regulatory advocacy services for a variety of the firm's association management clients.

Michael joined Shaw / Yoder / Antwih, Inc. as a legislative and regulatory advocate in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Michael held various legislative positions in the Brown Administration, serving most recently as Senior Legislative Analyst at the California High-Speed Rail Authority. In this role, Michael developed and managed the Authority’s legislative program, advised on legislative and budgetary issues and developments, and served as the Authority’s primary liaison to the California State Legislature, California State Transportation Agency, and the Office of the Governor.

Previously, Michael served as a Legislative Assistant in the Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. In this capacity, Michael staffed four of the Governor’s Deputy Legislative Secretaries, providing research assistance, legislative analysis, and administrative support in the areas of business and taxation, housing, and transportation. Prior to joining the Brown Administration in 2011, Michael was the Media Monitoring Coordinator for the Brown for Governor 2010 campaign and a Research Assistant in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.

Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
